Market Day

To go along with our study of communities, we will be having our annual Market Day Thursday December 11th. Criteria for Market Day is that the items must be non-edibles and student created (parents may assist, but not do the entire project). Examples of goods students can make include: cards, stationary, bracelets, ornaments etc... Please do not feel limited to these suggestions; get creative! More details will be announced as the date gets closer.

First Field Trip

The first grade team has decided upon a location and date for our first field trip! We will be going to the tunnels downtown on Friday, December 11th.

This field trip correlates with our new IB Unit: If You Build It. This unit has concepts dealing with communities. We will also be able to use our skills from our map unit to help guide us around the tunnels!

High Frequency Words

We are currently testing the students over the 75 high frequency words. The testing windo is November 9-20. To access a complete list, please follow the link below:

Spelling

Spelling will begin the week of September 21. The first spelling test will be on September 25th.
